Canada Geese over Pierre

While I was loading my truck to go pheasant hunting this morning, I saw three flocks of small Canada geese winging over the river, the first I've seen this fall. They weren't sky-high but appeared to be in a migration mode.

I expect the cold front and strong northwest winds will bring more birds over the next few days.

Ducks have been scarce, as have geese thus far this season in central South Dakota.
